St. Apollonia
Died - c.250

Feastday - 9 February

Statue Installed - 1668

Sculptor - Filippo Carcani
He received payments for a statue from May to June of 1668 for 80 scudi.

Height - 3.1 m. (10ft 4in) travertine
This is a part of a group erected between July and December 1668.  Part of the head is missing, and her right hand originally held pliers, the instrument of her torture and martyrdom.

She was one of a group of virgin martyrs who died in Alexandria during the uprising against the Christians.  The legend of her torture included having all of her teeth pulled out.
