- Alessandro Rondoni On 18 July 1702, he undertook to
deliver the statue by that date of the following year.
During this time he received payment of 80 scudi.
Height
- 3.1 m. (10ft 4in) travertine Her left hand holds the
palm of martyrdom
Susanna
is said to have been the daughter of St Gabinus, and was
beheaded by command of Diocletian, in her father's house,
which was turned into a church.
The
Roman Martyrology states that in the sixth century a basilica
near the baths of Diocletian was dedicated in her name. She
was anciently publicly celebrated as a martyr.
