Height
- 3.1 m. (10ft 4in) travertine The saint is covered with
a tunic that descends from the shoulder and surrounds the
sides. Behind him, at his feet, is a plumed helmet and a
tree trunk.
St Justin
Martyr
was a Christian apologist, who converted c.130, taught in Asia
Minor and Rome, where he suffered martyrdom. Two apologies and
a dialogue survive of his many writings.
