created - c. 1667-1668 This is part of a group of 16 that
were carved between May 1667 and July 1668.

- Lazzaro Morelli Morelli has the most statues attributed
to him, with over 45.
Height
- 3.1 m. (10ft 4in) travertine The saint appears
beardless and wearing a simple mantle that leaves open the
torso. This clothing refers to his status as a hermit. In his right hand he holds the palm of martyrdom.
The
young saint was a martyr of Caesarea in Cappadocia during the reign
of Emperor Aurelian. The Roman Martyrology states that he
lived as a hermit in the Montane forests with the greatest
frugality.
